Changes to Winter Fuel Payments
The government is changing the rules for Winter Fuel Payments so that, from winter 2024/2025, households will no longer be entitled to them unless they receive Pension Credit or certain other means-tested benefits:
- Universal Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income Support
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit

Pension Credit
It is estimated that in Warwickshire there are 5,800 people who are eligible for Pension Credit but are currently not claiming this.
